Ford’s hugely successful thunderbird was given a few subtle changes for 1956, which was its second season in production. The spare tire was relocated from the trunk to a “continental” mounting on the rear bumper. Wind wings were added to the trailing edge of the windshield, cowl vents were added to the front fenders, and the hardtop gained porthole windows in the rear quarters. The rear bumper was redesigned to simplify the exhaust outlets, with them being moved to the outer corners. A 215-brake horsepower, 312-cubic inch thunderbird special v-8 was available and rated at 225 brake horsepower with ford-o-matic drive. A complete nut and bolt frame-off restoration with less than 3,000 miles added since completion. The restoration was professionally done and took 5 years. It is finished in its original color “code k" fiesta red with a matching fiesta red/white interior. The engine is the y-block 312ci 225hp v8 with a 4-barrel carburetor and a 2-speed ford-o-matic automatic transmission. It comes with both the porthole hard top and a tan soft top. It features a continental kit, full wire wheel covers, engine dress up kit, master guide power steering, swift sure power brakes, backup lights, fender skirts air conditioning, heat/defroster, town and country signal seeking radio, upgraded larger radiator, electronic fuel pump, seat belts and new coker classic wide white wall radial tires. Please note, this vehicle will be offered for sale only at the central pennsylvania auto auction, july 14th and 15th, 2017 in lock haven, pennsylvania. Air Conditioning
